Challenge
At flemming efterskole, the focus is clear: gymnastics takes center stage. However, the school also embraces a broader perspective. They value academics, play football, nurture individuality, and foster strong communities. The level of ambition is high, regardless of each student’s starting point. With concrete disciplines in one hand and abstract concepts in the other, the question arises: how can these elements come together in a unified identity?
Solution
flemming efterskole is an equal balance of individuality and community. This balance is the foundation of their brand platform, “Personal Growth Together.” The new wording embraces both the tangible and abstract values, inviting everyone—both internally and externally—to be a part of the journey. To ensure brand recognition, the circle from the previous logo and identity has been retained. This circle not only appears in the logo but also serves as a graphic element that symbolizes the school’s sense of community, both on a large and small scale.




The new logo has been carefully designed with a focus on recognizability and values. The abbreviation “fe,” for which Flemming Efterskole is already well-known, is prominently incorporated into the circle—a symbol of community.

It emphasizes the individual, focusing on personal development and an ambitious approach to learning. At the same time, it highlights growth that is both physical and academic, fostering responsibility and personal formation.
All of this takes place within a strong community, where relationships and inclusion form the foundation of unity. The platform is flexibly integrated into communication, either as a cohesive whole or with a focus on individual elements.
A key part of our process is a workshop where key stakeholders come together to articulate the core and values of the school. Through strategic exercises, a brand wheel is developed that precisely defines the school’s identity and serves as a guide for future communication.


As part of flemming efterskole’s new visual identity, we have developed a custom font inspired by Bricolage Grotesque. Through precise adjustments, particularly to the “f,” we have crafted a typeface that aligns seamlessly with the school’s overall essence and identity.


The design is built on the balance between individuality and community. The circle represents the individual, capable of standing alone or being part of a larger whole. With flexibility in the design, we can zoom in on close relationships or out to the broader community, visually embodying flemming efterskole’s values on both a micro and macro level.



The design elements are used dynamically and can be integrated with images in multiple ways. They can be positioned both behind and in front of images or as a combination of both, creating depth and vibrancy in the visual expression. This flexibility underscores the connection between individuality and community while delivering a modern and eye-catching design.





The redesigned website integrates all elements of flemming efterskole’s new visual identity. With the fresh and dynamic expression achieved through the logo, design elements, and typography, the school is presented as both modern and engaging. The circles add vibrancy and depth, while the typography reinforces the ambition of personal growth and community. The result is a digital platform that not only informs but also inspires.
