For the 2022 festival season, we were tasked with rebranding Rock in Lunden. Big name Danish and foreign acts have for many years, played at this much-loved summer festival in Lunden, Horsens. Whether experiencing live music from front row, or soaking in Horsensian culture under the bright nights, this is something not to be missed.

Challenge
The Rock in Lunden team required an updated identity and visual toolbox to better market themselves for future festivals in Lunden.
Solution
Creating a new identity from our scratch is one our favorite projects. We looked at how we could modernize the existing identity without completely replacing it.

To preserve recognizability, we decided to keep Lunden’s tree from the logo.


We also wanted to create an identity that differentiated itself from competing festivals in Denmark. It had to have attitude and an edgy vibe, but still clearly have a festive ambience. We chose a distinctive bold typeface that screamed ‘rock’. But the font’s rounded corners provided a warm and inviting tone for everyone attending a music festival.



We created a toolbox that was adaptable. The new identity is recognizable in both large and smaller applications. And of course, the color scheme can be changed year to year. This creates a fresh but recognizable look for Rock in Lunden fans for many summers to come.




It was important stay true to the Rock in Lunden brand which loyal concertgoers were familiar with. While at the same time, make a name for themselves on social media. We were up to the challenge. The courageous team behind Rock in Lunden were prepared to be surprised.


Organic leaves from Lunden’s trees serve as a graphic element which surround the framed logo and artist names.
