Geberit's ambassador goes digital
Over a number of years, with several campaigns, we have built an entire B2B universe around Geberit’s Nordic brands. The focal point is “the Ambassador” – until now portrayed by a regular actor who adds life and humor to Geberit’s products. Because the benefits sell themselves, we have focused on presenting them in a humorous way. The universe has been expanded in the form of the Ambassador as an animated 3D character. The concept is an Installer quiz that gives an obviously wrong answer and a right answer that highlights the benefits of Geberit’s solutions.

Challenge
Geberit and their Nordic brands; Ifö, IDO and Porsgrund, have products for the bathroom with an incredible number of benefits as well as a large range of fantastic services. The problem is that not everyone knows about the many smart solutions and good services. How do we change that?
Solution
We take every opportunity to challenge and develop ourselves – this is especially true in this case! In order to expand the Ambassador universe further and to have the opportunity for more flexibility, we are now “digitalizing” the ambassador in the form of an animated 3D character. The advantages of Geberit’s Nordic brands presented in a fun and different way.
When you have to create an animated 3D character, there is a lot of development behind it. It is an exciting mix of both creative and technical processes that must play together. The process is complicated, but provides new opportunities for fun concepts and visualizations. It also means that we have a setup that makes it easier to start producing scenarios for our installer.
As soon as the concept is conceived, the process of translating our character from real, living human being to a caricatured digital personality begins. First, our installer is modelled. Here it is important to hit the appealing and recognizable look from our actor. Colors, materials and textures are then added to the model. Then a “rig” is added – i.e. a skeleton that allows you to animate the character.
The whole 3D approach is an exciting way of working, as you can produce videos without having to use an entire film crew, studio, actors and what else is included in our “normal” video productions.
In addition to the character itself, a “scene” must be built with all remedies included in the specific scene. Lighting and camera are also added here. All in a 3D environment where everything can be changed as needed.
